A Splendid Little War:
The 1898 Santiago Campaign
by Andy Nunez and Paul Rohrbaugh
ASLW deals with all aspects of the Santiago Cuba Campaign of 1898. The game covers the entire campaign and will include everything from the Rough Riders to Cuban (and Spanish) Guerillas and Naval gun support and just about everything in between, with most of the maneuver units being regiments and battalions. The US regiments can break down into quasi battalion sized units in order to trade off strength for speed.
Ther are several scenarios covering the major land engagements of the war, the attack on El Caney, and the infamous Rough Riders and the battle of San Juan Hill. In these engagements, (Actually, regiments can break down in the campaign game also; it is just that in the larger picture you may want to keep your regiments intact).
There is also a Naval map that allows the players to position their ships offshore in order to give naval gun support to the land units; while the Spanish are bottled up in Santiago Harbor and have the option of running the naval blockade and having a showdown battle with the US fleet.
